They span the spectrum, from idealistic, intellectual, erudite, belligerent, and stupid. None of them seem to fathom a basic reality.  Socialism and all its permutations require a powerful central state to impose the arbitrary will of that state.  To favor the socialist state requires faith that its decisions will be correct, just, and uncorrupted by authority and power. …That’s asking a lot.
